WORKSHOPS

During the upcoming edition of Firenze Rocks, on June 12th, 13th, and 15th, 2025, Accademia Italiana brings together music and design in three creative workshops that invite participants to explore visual language through the lens of rock culture. These experiences are led by professionals from the world of communication, art direction, and illustration — all united by a passion for music and a drive for experimentation.

Workshops are free of charge but strictly reserved for those already inside the arena with a valid festival ticket. If all spots are taken, you can join a waiting list and show up in person on the day of the event to access the workshop in case of cancellations or last-minute openings.

About the workshops:

Rockin’ Typo – Led by Manuel Alvaro | June 12th

“Rockin’ Typo” is a typographic workshop where participants will explore innovative approaches to type design. The experience focuses on modularity, unconventional writing tools, and experimental materials to build bold and original compositions. Guided by the spirit of rock, participants are encouraged to break free from traditional design structures and express typographic creativity with energy and spontaneity.
Manuel Alvaro, a curious creative and passionate drummer, works as an art director and teacher at Accademia Italiana. He blends branding, typography, and visual communication with music, which he considers a vital source of inspiration.

Music Disc-over – Led by Gianluca Piovesan | June 13th

This workshop is an introduction to graphic design through the world of music. Participants will reflect on how visual languages — from typography to photography and illustration — have shaped the music industry and its cultural evolution. Inspired by iconic designers and visual artists, the workshop invites attendees to create personal projects using techniques such as collage, analog and digital manipulation, and image composition.
Gianluca Piovesan is an art director and visual designer with experience in photography and multimedia design. As a teacher, he focuses on encouraging personal growth, curiosity, and a passion for evolving creative languages.

Wishin’ Wall – Led by Bianca Sangalli Moretti & Daniele Mariti | June 15th

During Firenze Rocks, the audience is invited to take part in a collective mural. Supervised by Bianca Sangalli Moretti and Daniele Mariti, both faculty members at Accademia Italiana, this live artwork celebrates the spirit of music and togetherness. It’s a unique opportunity to leave your mark, express yourself, and contribute to a vibrant, shared piece of visual culture.
Bianca Sangalli Moretti is an art director and illustrator based in Florence, where she runs Nora Studio and teaches Art Direction and Editorial Design. Daniele Mariti is a graphic designer, graffiti artist, and musician, bringing his passion for punk rock and street art into his creative and educational work.

Together, these three workshops offer a vibrant mix of graphic experimentation, musical influence, and participatory art, turning Firenze Rocks into a true celebration of creativity, sound, and visual expression.
